About Us

Our symbol displays who we are. We teach Wado Ryu Karate, Aiki Manaka Ryu Jujutsu, and Manaka Ryu Kenjutsu (Sword). The open hand in the symbol is how we execute our Jujutsu (extending energy) and the fist stands for Karate. As you notice it is also in the symbol of Yin and Yang, which symbolizes the balance that the 3 arts provide.

We focus on the traditional arts, respect, honor, trust, and focus, with a current age teaching style. Shihan Yoshikazu Nakamura is Soke Dare, the person responsible for carrying on his art that was founded by his family in the 7th Century. Both of his parents have lineage to Samurai Families. You are learning from real samurai. Bob Lowry trained with Shihan Nakamura while Shihan lived in the United States. It is Bob's responsibility to spread the art in the United States. He is doing that with the help of his senior students, and any other student that shows an interest in being part of something valuable to the world.
